Raven's Wolf was created to present magick as it rarely occurs in film,
as a spark still glowing within our everyday lives. It is not here to
preach, or prove esoteric points. Those who know magick don't need
to be shown, and those who don't really don't care to find out. Making
magickally themed films with limited appeal wastes resources and defeats
our goals. Instead, our storylines all develop within commercial genres
where magick is largely unknown. None of our screenplays are sword
& sorcery fantasies. Our current three include one vampire historical
epic, one mystery/thriller/horror and one coming of age
Beause Raven's Wolf was founded by a writer (me), each project begins
with a completed, copyrighted screenplay. Without a completed storyline,
other work is premature. Thereafter preliminary budgeting and pre-
production activities can logically proceed on start-up acquisition.
Screenplays:
"Impaler" - our 15th century historical epic. Extensively researched and
entirely original this is the story of Vlad the Impaler that Bram Stoker
never imagined. While vampires (from Nosferatu to theTwilight Saga)
have made over a billion in film, and reign as literature's most lucrative
characterizations, they lack any real depth. We think that the market is
ready for a vampire tale with substance, reach and relevance. After all,
how did a dead bloodsucker become a cultural icon? "Impaler" takes you
on that thrilling journey, step by step. The project has an associated book
(The Vlad Chronicles") written after the screenplay revealing the inspiration,
research and development behind the project's early stages. Preliminary
scouting has been done in Romania, Turkey and Wales
"Nevermore"- mystery/thriller/horror genres set in the US and Spain prior to
the Olympic Games. It asks - what if holy visions are not entirely holy? What
emerges when politics, religious frenzy, unexplained events and fierce ambition
collide in a isolated village on the eve of world attention? A chilling story that
will make you look twice at the people you see everyday.
"The Calling of Jesse" - coming of age tale with a noble heart, exquisite visuals,
and uniquely uplifting twist in an otherwise cynical scenario. What happens when
a congenial, gifted, socially acceptable and sane graduate student receives the
calling to become a shaman? What does that mean? Where does he go? How
can he juggle his planned life in the 'ordinary' world with his rapidly increasing
experiences in the 'extraordinary' one. Set in US/Australia.
