Introduction to the Tarot: 6 weeks/ once weekly/ 1-2 hours
A short course to acquaint the peripherally curious with Tarot,
its history and uses. I'll tell you a bit about how Kabbalism,
alchemy, astrology, numerology, myth and the Hebrew letters
got involved in what most consider a curious amusement.
Tarot of Crowley and Waite: 8 weeks/ twice weekly/ 2 hours
Through, in-depth examination of each card in both decks,
Compare/contrast underlying magickal cosmologies, alchemy.
astrology, numerology, and Kabbalism where applicable.
4 trumps/week; 2 weeks Minor Arcana. Includes use in
divination.
Introduction to Practical Magick: 9 weeks/ once weekly/ 2 hours
Divided into 2 segments, the first 4 weeks cover the history
and theoretical trappings of Western practice, including the
concepts of magic vs, magick, witch vs, wizard, sorcery and
ethical standards. The second 5 weeks concentrates on the
doing rather than discussing. Everything from practical alchemy,
to casting and protecting. Students will be required to keep
a journal to be privately discussed upon completion.
Review of the History of Western Magick: 6 weeks/ once weekly / 1-2 hours
Designed to acquaint the student with the development of Western
magick from the Paleolithic to the late 20th century. Particular attention
paid to the contributions from shamanism and the empires of Babylon,
Assyria, Egypt, Greece and Rome
Myths of Magick: 4 weeks/ $10./session/ 2 hours
A fun class for sitting in the evening and telling stories - we'll cover all
the biggies.
Introduction to Kabbalism in Magick:: 6 weeks/ one hour
The history of Kabbalah in the West from its speculative and practical
branches to its incorporation into 20th century magickal theorizing.
Review of astrology, alchemy, numerology, pantheism and shamanic
influence upon Western mysticism plus an explanation of Judaic,
Christian and magickal interpretations of the Tree.
Reading Workshop: ongoing' $15/ session/ 2-3 hrs.
Tarot of Crowley and Waite prerequsite Exactly what it says,
be prepared to read and justify your interpretations. Students
will read for one another under supervision.
